Men's Hoops Falls To Evansville, 79-74

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Craig Snow and Chuck Hedde each scored 17 points Saturday in leading Evansville past Southern Illinois 79-74.
Southern's Salukis (15-13, 9-8 Missouri Valley Conference) took their first lead of the second half at 74-73 on a 3-pointer by Abel Schrader. But Evansville's Aces (13-15, 8-9) scored the final six points on baskets by Hedde and Jeremy Stanton and two free throws by Kyle Runyan.
Schrader had a game-high 20 points, with 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range. Jermaine Dearman added 15, Joshua Cross 14 and Kent Williams 11.
Hedde and Dan Lytle had 12 points for the Aces, who made 60 percent of their field goal tries, including 8-of-17 from 3-point range and 17-of-20 from the free throw line.
Southern also made eight 3-pointers but they fired up 21.
