Carbondale, Ill. -
Alison Hiller of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale women's golf team was named Missouri Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Lady Aztec Spring Invitational Feb. 14.
The junior from Atlanta, Ga., shot a 74 for 18-holes and was only three strokes off the pace when the tournament was called because of rain. Hiller leads the MVC with a 76.917 season stroke average and has shot the only round in the 60s so far this season in the conference. She bagged a 69 on the final round of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Lady Trojan Invitational Oct. 17 which makes her the only female golfer in SIUC history to accomplish that feat.
Overall, she has shot seven rounds in 70s out of 12 this season in addition to her 69. She is the all-time leader at SIUC in career stroke average with a 79.9 and holds four individual tournament records including the all-time low for 18-holes (69), best first-round (70), best third-round (69) and all-time low for 54 holes (215).
