Saluki Harriers Finish Strong at Indiana State

Terre Haute, Ind. - The Southern Illinois University men's and women's cross country teams posted solid finishes at the Indiana State Invitational Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. The Saluki women took sixth place (169) while the men listed seventh (258) as Northern Arizona won both races.
The women's event was the first 6K race run by the lady harriers in the history of Southern Illinois women's cross country. Marissa Jelks paced the Dawgs finishing 17th with a time of 23:23. Becky Cox (31st, 24:00) and Jodi Huddleston (34th, 24:02) then rounded out the top three placewinners.
On the men's side, Joe Ziebert led the Salukis placing 35th with a time of 26:28 followed by Chris Owen (47th, 27:05) and Ryan Hauser (57th, 27:37).
