SIU Cross Country Sends Four to NCAA Midwest Regional

Southern Illinois University's women's cross country team will send four runners to this year's NCAA Midwest Regional meet Saturday, Nov. 11, at Byrnes Park in Waterloo, Iowa. Seniors Becky Cox and Marissa Jelks along with juniors Jodi Huddlestun and Julia Roundtree will be the four representing the Salukis.

Cox, who earned both all-MVC and scholar-athlete all-MVC honors, highlights this year's group which sports three harriers who head to the NCAAs for the first time in their careers. Cox stands as the lone veteran of the unit to have run the regional meet as she clocked a time of 19:02 (82nd) a year ago.

The NCAA Midwest Regional will begin with the women's 6,000 meter race at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10,000 meter race at approximately 12:15 p.m.
