Salukis Host Tennessee-Martin In Non-MVC Match

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale (3-7, 1-3 MVC) will step out of Missouri Valley Conference play host to the University of Tennessee Martin (8-4, 2-1 OVC) at Davies Gym on Tuesday, September 25 at 7 p.m.

Tennessee-Martin, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, played MVC member Indiana State tough in a 3-2 loss earlier this season.

"They're a very good team. They had Indiana State down 2-0 and Indiana State came back to win 3-2. They're not a team to be taken lightly by any means. They are a very good, upperclass team with smart players. It's going to be a great match," said Sonya Locke, Salukis head coach. "You have to serve tough and play defense with rally scoring and this match will be no different."

Southern Illinois will end the week by traveling to Indiana State (Sept. 28) and Illinois State (Sept. 29) for MVC matches.
