Salukis Fall To Indiana State 3-0 In MVC Play

Terre Haute, Ind. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale (4-8, 1-4 MVC) lost its MVC match to Indiana State (5-6, 2-1) 30-28, 30-17, 33-31 on Friday, September 28 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
"We didn't pass well or hit well," said Sonya Locke, Salukis head coach. "We hit .194 in game one, -.053 in game two and .250 in the final game which isn't good enough to win."
Tara Cains led the Salukis with 12 kills, 9 digs and 5 block assists with a .320 hitting percentage. Kristie Kemner added 10 kills, 6 digs and five aces. Jenny Noel had 9 kills, 2 digs, a solo block and 3 block assists. Megan Baumstark passed out 35 assists and 6 digs. Lindsey Schultz hit .429 with 4 kills, 1 error and 7 attempts with a solo block and 3 block assists.
The Salukis hit just .139 compared to Indiana State?s .254 and were out defended 53 digs to 36.
SIU will finish the road trip at Illinois State on Saturday, September 29 at 7 p.m.
