Carbondale, Ill. - SIU swept IUPUI 33-31, 30-21, 30-15 in the first match on day two of the Saluki/Best Inns Invitational to earn a shot at the tournament title against Missouri. SIU has won its first two matches of the tournament.
"It was nice to win. It's good to get another win especially a sweep. I'm still looking for more consistency ad Missouri will be tough," said Sonya Locke, Saluki head coach. "I'll take two wins any day over two losses."
The Jaguars (1-5) made it close in game one but didn't challenge the Salukis in the final two games.
Lindsey Schultz had a career day with a .647 hitting percentage (12 kills, 1 error, 17 attempts) and Nelson (8 kills), Noel (7 kills) and Kemner (7 kills) chipped in. Noel hit .400 in the match (7 kills, 1 error, 15 attempts).
