CARBONDALE - Jeff Young was named Missouri Valley Conference "Male Track Athlete of the Week" for the week of January 15th after shattering a Saluki record and recording an NCAA qualifying time of 7.90 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Saluki Booster Club Invitational. The previous record was 8.16 seconds, set by Elliott Young in 1999. Young recorded his record-breaking time in a preliminary race and went on to win the finals with a time of 7.93.
