Volleyball Hosts Nothern Iowa, Bradley This Weekend

Carbondale, Ill. - The Saluki volleyball team hopes to take advantage of playing on their home court in Davies Gym and knock off conference foes (#10) Northern Iowa and Bradley this weekend. The Salukis will take on Northern Iowa Friday night at 7 p.m. and Bradley at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Saluki outside hitter Kristie Kemner (senior, Quincy, Ill., Quincy Notre Dame HS) is just four digs away from becoming Southern Illinois' all-time career dig leader. She is currently second on the list with 1,110 digs.
Southern Illinois is 11-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
The Panthers, ranked tenth in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches poll, have a 13-2 record for the season. Northern Iowa is 4-1 in the conference, just one spot ahead of SIU. The last time Southern Illinois defeated UNI was in 1993 in Carbondale.
Bradley currently holds the top spot in the conference with a 5-0 record and an 11-3 overall standing. Last year, Bradley won both matches against SIU. The last time the Salukis defeated the Braves was in 1998 when SIU won both contests.
