Men's Golf Takes Fourth in New Orleans

New Orleans, La. - Southern Illinois kicked off its spring season with a fourth place finish at the Methodist Sportscare/Bob Brown Classic at Eastover Country Club. The Salukis shot a two-round score of 610 (304-306) among the 14-team field.
Senior Brad Dunker led all Salukis with a score of 150 which tied for 10th. Dunker clubbed a 74 in the first round and a 76 in the second, respectively. Mike Smith also listed among the top-25 placewinners with a 153 (78-75) which tied for 23rd.
Tennessee State (601) won the event, while Bethune-Cookman (602) placed second and Louisiana Tech (607) took third.
SIU will return to action at the Illinois Intercollegiate State Championship on March 22.
