Men's Tennis Fall To SMS 5-2

Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University (2-7, 0-3 MVC) men's tennis team lost 5-2 to Southwest Missouri State on Saturday at University Courts in an MVC match.
Alon Savidor (#2 Singles) def. Filko Knezevic 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 to earn a point and teamed with Peter Bong to win the #1 doubles match over Pavel Hanek & Rishi Garbharran 9-7.
SIU's Gian Carlo Remigio and Brian Blake teamed to win the #3 doubles 8-5 and the doubles point for the Salukis.
Bong (#1 singles) and Julian Angel Botero (#4 singles) each went to three sets before losing their singles matches and Remigio lost in a tiebreaker.
SIU looks to get its first MVC win against Drake (April 12), Creighton (April 13) and Northern Iowa (April 14) all on the road next week.
