Women's Golf Heads to Lady Northern Invite

Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's golf team returns to the links this weekend when it heads to the Iowa Lady Northern Invitational Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 28-29. The two-day event will begin with 36 holes on Saturday, before concluding with 18 on Sunday.

SIU is coming off a third-place finish at last week's UNI Panther Fall Classic. Redshirt freshman Tiffany Fritsche has posted a pair of top-15 finishes to lead the Dawgs early on. Fritsche, who boasts a 79.0 stroke average, has also carded three rounds in the 70s.

This year's Lady Northern features 12 teams, including Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Michigan, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Penn State, SIU and Wisconsin.
