Omaha, Neb. - Southern Illinois earned another conference win on the road by defeating Creighton in four games Saturday night at Omaha South High School.
The Salukis were down 12-3 in the first game before coming back from the nine point deficit to defeat the Bluejays 30-25. SIU won the second game 30-26, but fell to Creighton in the third, 32-30. Southern Illinois edged the Jays in the fourth game, 30-28.
"We fought really hard tonight," said coach Sonya Locke. "Creighton wasn't going to quit; they were scrappy and went after it. We did some things that were uncharacteristic of ourselves, but then we came back and played well."
