Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Iowa Lady Northern

Iowa City, Iowa - Southern Illinois University's women's golf team remained in 11th place to close out the Iowa Lady Northern which ended earlier today at Finkbine Golf Course.

The Salukis struggled in both the first and third rounds of the tournament shooting a 327 or higher en route to their final 977 mark.

After ranking among the top-20 following the first day of play, junior Megan Tarrolly fell from 19th to 27th where she tied with Illinois' Renata Young and Northwestern's Ina Kim. Tarrolly clubbed a 78 and 75 before concluding the two-day event with an 80.

Amy Rankin also registered a top-50 finish tying for 48th with a 244. Rankin fired rounds of 85, 75 and 84 on the weekend.

Mid-American Conference member Kent State (895) won this year's Lady Northern which was dominated by schools from the Big Ten. Penn State (898), Indiana (898), Michigan (910), Iowa (913), Illinois (916), Northwestern (924), Wisconsin (934), Minnesota (942), Illinois State (977), SIU and Northern Illinois (1026) then rounded out the 12-team field.

SIU will break for a month before returning to action at the Hawaii Rainbow Classic on Oct. 29-30.
