Salukis Remain Undefeated

Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team continued its winning streak win by sweeping Murray State University in three games (30-27, 30-25, 30-15) in second round action of the Saluki/Best Inns Invitational Saturday morning at Davies Gymnasium.
Outside hitter Kristie Kemner (senior, Quincy, Ill., Quincy Notre Dame HS) moved up to second in the Saluki career kill/dig double-doubles with 40 by crushing 17 kills and digging 19 attacks. Kemner served two aces and had three assists.
Tara Cains (senior, OH, LaPorte, Ind., LaPorte HS) recorded a .385 hitting percentage with five kills on 13 attacks and no errors. Britten Follett (junior, S, Marengo, Ill., Marengo HS) had 36 assists, 10 digs, and five kills. Freshman middle blocker Marissa Washington totaled seven kills on 15 attacks with two errors for a .333 hitting efficiency. She also was credited with eight digs.
The Salukis (6-0) will play UMKC (5-1) tonight at 7 p.m.
