Price-Smith Appointed To NCAA Committee

Carbondale, Ill. - Connie Price-Smith, head women's track and field coach at Southern Illinois University, has been appointed by the NCAA Division I Championship/Competition Cabinet to the Track and Field Committee.

The 25-member committee includes representatives from all divisions and subdivisions of Division I. Price-Smith was nominated by the Missouri Valley Conference Office to represent the MVC in the Midwest region.

"It is quite an honor to represent track and field on an NCAA committee," said Price-Smith. "I'm looking forward to working with great people, sharing ideas and being a productive member."

Duties during Price-Smith's four-year appointment on the championships and rules committee include attending national championships, learning about meet management, and redefining rules to be voted on by the cabinets.
