Women's Golf Ties for 13th in Spring Opener

Miami, Fla. - Southern Illinois tied for 13th out of 15 teams competing at the Florida International Golden Panther Classic which ended earlier today at Doral Resort. The Salukis posted a two-round mark of 698.
Megan Tarrolly led the Salukis with a 167. Tarrolly clubbed rounds of 69 and 88 en route to tying for 28th. Amy Rankin, who competed as an individual, rounded out the Dawgs' top two placewinners tying for 43rd. She finished with scores of 89 and 84.
The University of Illinois won the two-day event with a 633 (309-324). North Carolina-Greensboro finished 13 strokes behind to place second with a 646 (334-312). Georgia State then closed out the top three with a 653 (334-319), respectively.
The Salukis will return to action on March 10-11 at the Peggy Kirk Bell Classic in Winter Springs, Fla.
