Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University women's track and field team will be back in action this weekend at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. Friday with the women's shot put. Start time for Saturday is noon.
"There's going to be some exciting competition," said head coach Connie Price-Smith. "Hopefully, we will go out and perform well. It's a meet where we will have the chance to step up to our competition."
The field consists of close to 30 teams including the host school Indiana, SIU, Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois University, Indiana State University, Murray State University, Purdue, Southeast Missouri State, University of Memphis, Vanderbilt University, and Western Kentucky University.
"This meet is a simulation of conference," said Price-Smith. "There will be prelims and finals, so a lot of chances to get some good times and marks."
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for youth, grades 12 and under, and can be purchased at the door of the Harry C. Gladstein Fieldhouse on the IU campus.
