Hurdler Jeff Young Finishes Tenth At NCAAs

Fayetteville, Ark. - Southern Illinois University senior hurdler Jeff Young finished tenth of 17 competitors in the 60m-hurdles at the 2003 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. Friday.
Although Young was .02 seconds from qualifying for the finals, he reset SIU's school record running 7.79 in the preliminaries. He held the previous record of 7.80 which he set March 1 of this year.
Young placed sixth (7.83) at last year's championship meet to earn All-American honors.
The meet will continue tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. with the women's 20lb. weight throw and conclude Saturday night with the 4x400m relay finals.
