Latrice Gray Ties For Second In The High Jump

Knoxville, Tenn. - Knoxville, Tenn. - Senior Latrice Gray cleared 5-7.75 to tie for a second place finish in the high jump Friday at the Sea Ray Relays, SIU's high finish on the women's side. Gray's jump is also an NCAA regional qualifying mark. The meet, hosted by the University of Tennessee, highlights over 1,500 competitors and 114 teams.
Noa Beitler clocked her best finish this outdoor season in the 800m to qualify for the NCAA regional meet (2:09.79).The Salukis had two ninth place finishes in the meet. Kelsey Toussaint ran her best time in the 100m this year breaking the 12 second mark with a 11.95.
Inna Turevsky leaped 39-6 to take 12th in the triple jump. Toussaint ran 55.79 in the 400m for 19th.
Scotten Wins Pole Vault--Freshman Ray Scotten turned in an NCAA regional qualifying performance in the pole vault. Scotten cleared 17-1 for first place out of 27 competitors.
Dayton Johnson recorded the team's next best finish placing fifth in the triple jump (48-10).
Sophomore Eli Baker took seventh in the 3000m steeplechase.
