Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Grant Goltz shot a three-round score of 222 to finish nine over par and lead six Southern Illinois golfers competing in the Morton B. Harris Southeast Missouri Four Ball earlier this week. No team scores were kept during the two-day event.

Goltz opened the tournament with a 72, before concluding with identical 75 marks in rounds two and three. Three other Salukis, including Josh Wheeler, Roger Welch and Rob Laegeler turned in three consecutive scores in the 70s on the event. Wheeler tallied a 228 (78-75-75) and Welch posted a 232 (74-79-79), while Laegeler scored a 225 (74-72-79).

SIU will return to action April 7-8 at the Branson Creek Invitational in Branson, Mo.
