SIU Track and Field Performs at Drake Relays

Des Moines, Iowa - Southern Illinois University track and field members competed at the 94th Drake Relays earlier today. The Drake Relays, known as "America's Athletic Classic", is sold out for tomorrow marking the 38th consecutive sellout at Drake Stadium (18,000), the longest in U.S. track and filed history.
Dunbar Advances--Junior Korto Dunbar shaved .20 seconds off her previous season/career best in the 100m-hurdles running 13.59 to advance to the finals tomorrow afternoon. Dunbar had previously qualified for the NCAA regional meet at Ohio State May 30-31 with a time of 13.79.
Noa Beitler ran her fastest time of the season in the 800m clocking a 2:07.76, .01 seconds off her school record. She finished third overall in the university division.
Dunbar ran 11.89 in the 100m, and Kelsey Toussaint finished in 12.01.
Freshman Ty Davis teamed up with Toussaint, Dunbar, and Beitler in the 4x400m relay. The foresome clocked a 3:52.10.
Brent Little finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 22-7.
Connie Price-Smith was inducted into the Drake Relays' Athletes Hall of Fame last night. Price-Smith is the 194th athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and was introduced to the crowd this afternoon.
