Felix Anderson Named MVC Track Athlete of the Week

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois freshman Felix Anderson has been named Missouri Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana University.
Anderson ran his fastest time as a Saluki and qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regional meet in the 400m with a time of 46.97. His previous best this year was 48.21 at the Jesse Owens Track Classic May 3.
Wichita State took both men's and women's field athlete of the week honors. Casey Smith and Krystal Bowes were both recognized for their efforts. Brittney Hourd, Illinois State, received the women's track athlete of the week.
