Norman Named MVC Golfer of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Junior transfer Brian Norman was named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, announced today by the league office.

A native of Henderson, Ky., Norman helped the Salukis to the team title at the Steve Harris Invitational played in Jackson, Mo., earlier this week. He shot 71-72-71 to finish with a two-under-par 214. He also placed third in a field of 88 golfers.

Norman, who made his SIU debut at the Steve Harris Invitational, helped the Salukis to their third tournament win under head coach Leroy Newton. Newton is in his eighth year as SIU's men's golf coach.
