Gerlach Named MVC Women's Golfer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Sophomore Kelly Gerlach was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced today by the league office.

After the first day of the Arkansas State Lady Indian Classic was cancelled due to wet conditions, Gerlach, a native of Sparta, Ill., shot a 40-35--75 to finish tied for first at the one-day tournament in Jonesboro, Ark., this week. She lost the title in a playoff and finished second, while the Salukis (314) finished third in the 17-team tournament under 19th-year head coach Diane Daugherty.

Gerlach, who won her first golfer of the week honor, is leading the Salukis, with a 75.57 average through seven rounds of golf this fall.
