Elmer McDaniel Named Gateway Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week

Saluki All-American center Elmer McDaniel was named the Gateway Conference "Offensive Lineman of the Week" for his performance in Southern Illinois' 38-10 win over Western Kentucky Saturday.
McDaniel, a senior from Muskogee, Okla., graded out at 92 percent on blocking assignments with a 100 percent effort grade. The Salukis rushed for 310 yards and a 5.7 ave. against the #3 ranked scoring defense in the nation.
It marked the second time in McDaniel's career that he has won the award. He won it last year for his efforts against Illinois State.
