Women's Golf Fourth After Day One of Snowbird Classic

TAMPA, Fla. - Southern Illinois University's women's golf team currently stands in fourth place out of 18 teams competing at the 18th Annual Snowbird Classic, which is hosted by Northern Illinois University.
SIU shot a first-round 319 in its first day of play. Southern Mississippi (297), James Madison (307) and Richmond (315) occupy the top three spots.
Individually, freshman Kelly Gerlach shot a 76 on the famed Pepple Creek Golf Course (par 72) and ranks tied for sixth. Amy Rankin (77) is also tied for 12th, while Megan Tarrolly (83) and Samantha Sutzer (83) are both tied for 32nd. Stephanie Pate (93) rounds out the Saluki squad tied for 65th place.
The Salukis conclude play at the Snowbird Classic with two rounds of 18 holes on Friday.
