Women's Golf Takes Fifth at Illini Spring Classic

URBANA, Ill. - Southern Illinois University's women's golf team shot back-to-back 307s en route to a fifth place finish at the Illini Spring Classic which ended earlier today. The Salukis were led by senior Megan Tarrolly who tied for fourth out of 63 individuals competing at the event.
Tarrolly shot a 74-74--148 on the tournament to top the Salukis' scoring. Amy Rankin and Kelly Gerlach also had top-25 finishes. Rankin tied for 10th with a 75-76--151, while Gerlach clubbed a 79-77--156. Samantha Sutzer (79-80--159) and Stefanie Pate (83-80--163) also competed for the Dawgs.
Toledo won the tournament with a 602, while Illinois (603), Bradley (605), Illinois State (606) and SIU rounded out the first five of the 12-team field.
SIU returns to action on Apr. 18-20 when it hosts the MVC Championship at Hickory Ridge.
