Robinson Named MVC Field Athlete of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - High jumper Aaron Robinson was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete-of-the-Week on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the league office.

A junior who transferred from Paradise Valley Community College in Arizona, Robinson won the high jump for the second straight week as he took the Gatorade Classic title with a leap of 6-08.75. The jump was his second-best jump of the season. Robinson qualified for the NCAA regional meet last week with a jump of 6-10.75, which tied him for 10th on the all-time best list at SIU.

This is the first time this season and in Robinson's career that he has received the honor from the Valley. He is the second Saluki from the men's team to be honored this outdoor season. Sophomore Ray Scotten was named the field athlete-of-the-week after the Spring Classic two weeks ago.
