The Southern Illinois University football team regained its #1 ranking in both the Sports Network media poll and the ESPN/USAToday Coaches poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Salukis (2-1) beat William Penn on Saturday, 59-9. The victory, coupled with a loss by last week's #1 team, Montana, allowed SIU to move up one spot in both polls.
"The bullseye is back on us," Saluki head coach Jerry Kill said. "We have eight, difficult football games ahead of us, beginning with a road trip to Delaware State this week. We'll take them one at a time and see where we are at the end of the season."
