Ordway Named MVC Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week

www.SIUSalukis.com CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois freshman Jessica Ordway was named this week's Missouri Valley Conference female athlete of the week, announced today by the league office. Ordway made a solid collegiate debut by recording the fastest 4K time of any Valley female runner last weekend in the Saluki Fast Start. A native of Holgate, Ohio, Ordway finished second with a time of 14:52.85. She crossed the finish line behind SE Missouri State's Lindsay Zeiler, who won the race with a 14:42.27. A total of 21 runners competed in the three-team event which consisted of SIU, SEMO and Murray State. There were no team scores, but individual times were tallied.
