CARBONDALE, Ill. - Sophomore Christine Zoerlein was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced today by the league office.
Zoerlein led the Salukis at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tenn., as she finished second overall. She was the only Saluki to shoot both rounds in the 70s with a score of 76-77=153. This is Zoerlein's best finish of the season. As a team, SIU took second place in the 17-team tournament (316-322=638).
Zoerlein, who won her first golfer of the week honor, is tied with Natalie Parker to lead the team, with a 79.3 average through 11 rounds of golf this fall.
