DeWulf earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois outside hitter Katy DeWulf was named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Five second team CoSIDA announced Thursday.
The sophomore is the first Saluki to earn the honor since 2002 when SIU landed two on the first-team and one second-team pick.
DeWulf, a Murphysboro, Ill. native, carries a 3.947 grade point average in business and administration with a chemistry minor. She is second on the team this season averaging 2.56 kills per game. She has 223 kills on the season, hitting .149 with 16 service aces, 59 digs and 42 blocks. She has started all 25 matches this season, playing in 87 of 88 games.
DeWulf is one of 10 Missouri Valley Conference athletes to earn a spot on either the first, second or third team. First-team picks are eligible for All-American honors.
