DES MOINES, Iowa - Southern Illinois posted three hitters in double-digit kills, including 11 each from Marissa Washington and Haley Hann, as the Salukis went on to sweep Drake, 3-0, in Missouri Valley Conference play Saturday at the Knapp Center.
SIU (10-17, 6-11) hit .247 in the match, recording 14 more kills and 11 more digs than the Bulldogs (4-25, 2-14).
Hann recorded the seventh double-double of her career, adding 15 digs to her 11 kills and four blocks to lead the way. Washington recorded three blocks, including two solo, while Johannah Yutzy posted 10 kills and four block assists.
Setter Holly Marita posted 46 assists and 15 digs for her 28th career double-double.
Libero Kristy Elswick posted a match-high 24 digs in the win to bring her season total to 463, passing Erica Miller for third on the all-time single-season digs list with 462. The freshman needs 14 digs to slide into second, with one match remaining this season.
Southern recorded its 10th win of the season, the best season-total since 2002, when the Salukis finished 23-10.
The Salukis travel to Evansville Wednesday to take on the Aces for the final match of the season.
