Men's Tennis Post 7-0 Shut Out Over Creighton

CARBONDALE, IL. - After picking up their first Missouri Valley Conference win over the Drake Bulldogs yesterday, the Salukis did not miss a beat today as they cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Creighton Bluejays at the SIU Arena Tennis Courts.
The Salukis began the day by capturing the doubles point as Rodrigo Lama teamed up with Tomas Gonzalez to post a win at the No. 2 doubles spot, while Alexandru Nomicos and Sergio Sanchez defeated Chris Miller and Ross Allen (8-5) at the No. 3 doubles position.
After picking up the doubles point the Salukis did not let up as they swept all six singles matches. Leading the Dawgs was Alexandru Nomicos, who defeated Creighton's Tom McCarthy (6-0, 6-3) at the No.1 singles spot and Rodirog Lama notched a win at the No. 2 singles spot with his 6-1, 6-4 victory over Vinny Meens.
The Salukis improve to 8-8 on the season with a 2-3 mark in MVC play. SIU will finish out their season with two road matches, as they travel to Bradley on April 23 and then wrap up their season with a showdown agaisnt Illinois State on April 24.
