Saluki athletics announces sponsorship agreement with Regions Bank

The Southern Illinois University athletics department announced Tuesday that Regions Bank has agreed to a one-year sponsorship package valued at $30,000. The sponsorship is the largest in the history of Saluki athletics and an example of growing partnerships between athletics and the business community.
Regions Bank will be involved in almost every public aspect of Saluki athletics, including signage, game sponsorships and co-branding.
"We at Regions Bank are very pleased and excited about our new relationship with Southern Illinois University and Saluki Athletics," said Blaine Strock, president of the Southern Illinois region. "SIU and the Salukis are a vital part of southern Illinois. I am proud our company recognizes that and is showing its support for the university and all of its athletic programs."
Region's Bank will also sponsor a Saluki "student-athlete of the week" award beginning in September 10.
"This is a big-time sponsorship and a significant step for Saluki Athletics," said Saluki Athletics Director Paul Kowalczyk. "We're extremely pleased to be able to strengthen our relationship with Blaine and Regions Bank and greatly appreciate the confidence they are showing in our program."
