CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Saluki Athletics season continued into the summer this past week as track and field sent select athletes to the NCAA Nationals First Round in Lafayette, Arkansas.

Track and Field
Select track and field athletes spent the last week in Lafayette, Arkansas, for the NCAA West Regionals. Leah Thames was the highlight of the appearance for SIU as she advanced to the event's quarterfinals in the 200- and 400-meter dashes while also setting a program record in the 400-meter dash. Then, in the quarterfinals, Thames placed eighth to book her ticket to the NCAA Nationals in Eugene, Oregan, which take place June 10-13.
