Volleyball to be broadcast on WIDB

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University home volleyball matches will be broadcast live from Davies Gym for the first time, WIDB announced Wednesday.
Volleyball coverage on WIDB.net will include pre and post-game interviews with Saluki head coach Brenda Winkeler and a weekly spot on WIDB The Revolution's Wednesday evening and Saturday morning sports shows.
"With the SIU athletic department's success, we figured a great way to reach the students was through Saluki athletics," WIDB's Chris Hagstrom said. "With the new volleyball coaching staff, we figured this was a great time to start and we're excited to be working with Coach Winkeler."
WIDB, SIU's only student-run radio station, will stream 11 of 12 2005 home games on WIDB.net, www.siusalukis.com and via university cable channel 5 in the SIU dorms.
"Radio coverage of volleyball was a long-term goal when I accepted this job," Winkeler said. "This is great for our program."
