It's Homecoming at SIU
Southern Illinois is 21-22 all-time over homecoming weekend dating back to 1963. The Salukis hosted Western Illinois seven times as part of homecoming, and are 1-6 in those contests. SIU has won on homecoming in each of the last five years. In fact, the Dawgs' last homecoming loss was to the Leathernecks (42-17) in 2000.
Salukis go for fifth-straight win against Leathernecks
SIU looks to post its fifth-straight win against WIU. The Leathernecks, who at one time, won a league record 18-straight games against the Dawgs, own a 33-14-4 series lead. WIU's 33 wins are the most any Gateway Conference opponent has against SIU. However, the Salukis have taken the last four meetings, winning by scores of 54-52 (2002), 37-32 (2003), 66-13 (2004) and 34-24 (2005).
