Hill and Wise named first-team Academic All-District V

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University junior Nick Hill and senior J.T. Wise earned first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V honors.
Hill, who hails from nearby DuQuoin, Ill., carries a 3.25 grade point average in special education. He completed 89-of-147 passes for 1,256 yards and nine touchdowns in nine starts at quarterback this season.
Hill, who ranks 13th in the nation in passing efficiency (148.44), also rushed for 288 yards and five TDs. In addition, he was named Gateway Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Week and Sports Network National Offensive Player-of-the-Week on Sept. 18.
Wise, a repeat Academic All-District honoree, holds a 3.20 GPA in physical education. A native of Farmersville, Ill., he has rushed the ball nine times for 59 yards and caught nine passes for 60 yards as the Salukis' starting fullback.
