Milleville, Ukabam named MVC Field Athletes of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois throwers Mark Milleville and Amarachi Ukabam were named the Missouri Valley Conference Field Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Milleville had an automatic qualifiying mark in the weight throw at the EIU Friday Night Special. He threw 70-04.25 to take the meet title and set a new school record. He also took second in the shot put with a toss of 54-08. His weight mark ranks seventh on the NCAA list and he is currently first in the Valley in the weight throw and third in the shot put.
Ukabam broke a Southern Illinois and Missouri Valley Conference record in the women's shot at the EIU Friday Night Special. The senior finished first with a throw of 56-01.75. She also took home second place in the women's weight throw with a mark of 69-00.75. Ukabam currently ranks fifth in both the women's shot and women's weight throw on the NCAA list. On the Valley lists, Ukabam is first in the shot put and second to teammate Brittany Riley in the weight throw.
This is the second Valley honor of the season for both Ukabam and Milleville.
