Yutzy named Saluki Scholar-Athlete of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University volleyball middle blocker Johannah Yutzy is this week's Saluki Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Yutzy led the Salukis (4-5 this season) to a 2-1 record at the 27th Saluki Invitational over the weekend. The senior hit .228 with 22 kills and just nine errors in 57 attempts. She also added one solo and 14 block assists for a 1.67 average. Yutzy recorded her best game of the weekend in a 3-0 win over Austin Peay, with five kills and eight block assists - a career-best.
This is the third straight week that the senior has been named to an all-tournament team. She is currently hitting .340 on the season - third in the league. She is averaging 3.19 kills, 0.43 digs and 1.16 blocks per game - ninth in the league.
The Plain City, Ohio native carries a 3.25 GPA in marketing.
This is Yutzy's first scholar-athlete award of the season. She garnered three awards last season.
