Volleyball falls to Belmont

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team hit just .087 with 21 attack errors dropping the match, 3-0, to Belmont Saturday morning in the third game of the Saluki Invitational.
The Bruins hit .342 with just 12 attack errors, adding 50 kills and 59 digs in the three game match, overpowering the Salukis in three straight games, 30-15, 30-23, 30-22.
Johannah Yutzy posted a team-high nine kills, adding one solo and two block assists for the Salukis.
Haley Hann added eight kills and three block assists, while Kristy Elswick recorded a match-high 19 digs.
Cat Mundy led all hitters with 13 kills for the Bruins, while Jaye Schuler added 11.
The Salukis will face West Virginia at 7 p.m. for the final match of the tournament.
