Cross Country men finish 26th at Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Southern Illinois University men's cross country team finished in 26th place at the 2007 Pre-National meet hosted by Indiana State on Saturday.
The Salukis were one of 40 teams to compete in their section of the 8K race at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
SIU's top finisher was Kevin Doran, who posted a time of 24:18 to finish in 75th of 270 runners. Jeff Schirmer was SIU's next finisher with a time of 24:36, placing him in 112th.
Mohamed Mohamed finished 136th with a time of 24:53, while Jason Ordway was 176th with a time of 25:15. Also competing for the Salukis were Greg McBride (192nd, 25:27), Kyle Kirchner (212th, 25:37) and Mark Bowman (220th, 25:42).
The Salukis also had three competitors in the men's open race. Dab Dunbar was SIU's top finisher in the race with a time of 25:35.3, placing him in 49th of 147 runners.
Tyler Bradford finished 100th in the open race with a time of 26:27.8, while Jason Brosseau finished in 106th with a time of 27:08.2.
The Salukis will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the State Farm MVC Championships in Waterloo, Iowa.
