CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University cross country team showed up in force to volunteer as part of the SIUC Saluki Volunteer Corps "Day of Service" event.
Members of the team devoted their Saturday to beautifying Carbondale by collecting litter and planting flowers throughout the community.
The cross country team, along with all of SIU's athletic teams, devote countless hours to local community service every year.
