Saluki Volleyball to host Weekend of Festivities

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Saluki Women's Volleyball team wants you to join them this weekend for fun filled volleyball action along with a costume contest on Friday night and a "Dig for the Cure" Breast Cancer night on Saturday.
Halloween will be celebrated six days earlier this year at Davies Gym as the Salukis take on Wichita State at 7 p.m. on Friday. All fans are encouraged to dress up in costume. There will be a costume contest during intermission.
SIU Volleyball "Dig for the Cure' Breast Cancer Awareness game this Saturday, Oct.27th against Missouri State.
"Dig for the Cure" will be celebrated as Saluki Volleyball brings awareness to breast cancer and will raise funds for the Illinois Susan G. Komen organization on Saturday night.
Saluki Volleyball invites all fans to wear pink when attending its 7 p.m. match against Missouri State. Pink shirts will be given to the first 50 fans through the door and pink ribbons will be provided to the first 300 fans.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Saluki fans can pledge money per dig earned in the match, or can make a flat donation to the cause. The money raised by each team goes directly to the Komen Foundation's local affiliate in the community.
