Riley named MVC Field Athlete-of-the-Week again

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University junior Brittany Riley was named Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete-of-the-Week for the fourth time this season Tuesday.
A native of Flossmoor, Riley continued her dominance in the weight throw, winning the event for the fifth consecutive time last weekend at the Iowa State Classic. Riley finished first out of 48 competitors with a 79-04.50 (24.19m) on her last throw.
That throw was good for both a meet and Lied Recreational Center record.
Riley and the women's track and field team hold steady in a tie for 21st in the nation, according to the latest women's indoor Trackwire Top-25 Poll.
