Track hosts 2007 MVC Indoor Championships this weekend

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University hosts the 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 23-24 at SIU Rec Center. Events start at 9 a.m., Friday and 10:45 a.m., CST, Saturday.
SIU's women, led by junior thrower Brittany Riley, goes for their second title in three years. The Salukis were picked third behind Northern Iowa and Indiana State in the league's pre-championship poll.
On the men's side, SIU searches for its first indoor title since 1992. The Salukis are predicted to finish fourth. Wichita State is the favorite, while UNI and Indiana State are also ahead of SIU. The Panther men have won seven consecutive indoor championships.
