SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Southern Illinois thrower Brittany Riley picked up her fourth All-America honor Saturday afternoon finishing second in the women's hammer throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Riley threw 227-04 in her top outdoor event to come up short of defending national champion Jenny Dahlgren. The senior from Georgia threw 232-10 for first in the event. The duo was one, two in the event all season, Riley beating Dahlgren at the Drake Relays earlier this season in Des Moines, Iowa.
Riley, the NCAA indoor weight throw national champion and world record holder, also finished 20th in the discus, throwing 160-04 in prelims Wednesday.
Fellow thrower Brenton Siemons finished 21st in the men's shot put in his first trip to nationals. The junior threw 57-00.25 in prelims Thursday to miss the finals.
