Volleyball hosts Western Illinois, Saluki Invitational this week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team will open the 2007 season at home against the Leathernecks of Western Illinois Wednesday in Davies Gym at 7 p.m.
The Salukis bring a 4-2 record, the team's best start since 2002, to their home court following two tournaments this season. WIU is 1-6 on the season, including 1-2 on the road this season.
Friday and Saturday, SIU will take on three teams at the 28th Saluki Invitational. UMKC, Cleveland State and Murray State round out the tournament field. The Salukis face Cleveland State Friday at 7 p.m., then turn around Saturday to face UMKC (12 p.m.) and Murray State (7 p.m.)
